FOR PARENTS OF NEURODIVERGENT CHILDREN

You need someone in your corner.

Not another report to read. Not another waiting list. Someone who has walked this path, has done the reading, and can sit with you — and help you figure out what to do next.

"There is too much to read, too little time, and no one to tell you which part actually matters for your child."

What most parents say in the first session

This is what no one talks about.

YOU ARE NOT IMAGING IT

A diagnosis is the beginning, not the end. What follows is a flood — reports, therapy waitlists, school conversations, family dynamics, your own grief — and almost all of it falls on you to navigate.

You are time-poor, often running on empty, probably parenting more than one child, and trying to hold down everything else at the same time. The reading alone is a full-time job.

That's where I come in.

The information overload

Books, podcasts, Facebook groups, OT reports, CAMHS letters — it's endless and contradictory. You don't know where to start, or whether what you're reading even applies to your child.

The invisible load

You're managing the appointments, the school emails, the meltdowns, the siblings, and the guilt — while also trying to research the thing no one explained to you properly.

The isolation

Well-meaning friends and family don't always get it. The professionals see your child, not you. You can feel completely alone in this — even in a room full of people.

The paralysis

You know you need to do something. But there are thirty somethings and no clear place to begin. So another week passes and you're still in the same place.

THE PROCESS

Simple, personal, practical.

We talk — really talk

Your first session is a proper conversation. I want to hear everything: where you are, what your child is like, what's working, what's not, and what's keeping you awake at 3am. No agenda, no clipboard. Just listening.

I work with one family at a time. I listen first. Then I do the research, come back to you with the pieces that actually matter, and we figure out the next two steps together.

1

I do the reading so you don't have to

Between sessions I research what's most relevant for your specific situation — the right sources, the most useful frameworks, the practical strategies that actually work. I pull out the two or three things worth your attention right now.

2

One or two things to try

We don't try to fix everything at once. At the end of each session, you leave with one or two concrete, manageable things to implement — small enough to actually do, significant enough to make a difference.

3

A check-in two weeks later

Two weeks after each session I check in with you. How did it go? What worked, what didn't? We adjust, we problem-solve, and then you go off again. You're not doing this alone between appointments.

FROM THE COMMUNITY

What parents say when they finally feel seen.

“I spent three years thinking I was the only one who felt this way. Within two sessions I realised I had just never been in the right room before.”
— Georgina · child diagnosed age 4
“She didn’t give me a single piece of advice I hadn’t asked for. She just helped me figure out what I actually needed. It was a relief.”
— Rikki · child diagnosed age 8
“We went away for a weekend for the first time in four years. I rarely checked my phone on Saturday. That felt like a miracle.”
— Anna · children aged 9 and 12

WHAT THIS IS

What you can expect from working with me.

I'm not a therapist. I'm not an OT. I'm a parent of neurodivergent children who has spent years in the system, done the reading, the endless exercises and want to help parents on similar path, who are earlier on their journey.

My role is to listen, to research, to filter, and to stand beside you. You're the expert on your child. I'm here to help you access the information and support you need, without the overwhelm.

Seen and heard — not judged

No thoughtless advice. No minimising. You lead the conversation and I follow your child's needs. You are in a safe space.

Research done for you, not at you

I don't hand you a reading list. Between sessions I do the reading and bring back only what's relevant to your situation right now.

Practical, not theoretical

Every session ends with one or two things you can actually implement — not concepts, not frameworks. Specific, doable actions for your specific family.

Accountability between sessions

The two-week check-in is built in. You're not waiting six weeks wondering if you're doing it right. We adjust in real time.

Online — wherever you are

All sessions take place by video call. You can be based anywhere. No commute, no scheduling around school runs.

WHERE YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT NOW

Every family's path looks different.

Early days — youngest child under 4

The diagnosis is recent or still in process. Everything is new. You're still finding your footing and trying to understand what this means for your family. This is where having someone to talk to — and someone to do the reading for you — matters most.

THE TRENCHES

Finding your way — youngest child under 8

You've got some of the landscape mapped but there are still plenty of trees in the way. School is a whole new world. Siblings are navigating it too. You're more informed but still stretched, still searching.

THE WOODS

More settled — youngest child under 12

The dust has settled somewhat. You know your child, you know the system, but there are still moments, transitions and new challenges that knock you sideways. Having someone to think things through with makes all the difference.

THE CLEARING

WHO IS BEHIND THIS

I've been where you are.

I'm a parent of neurodivergent children, based in Dublin. I know what it's like to sit in an assessment waiting room not knowing what you're hoping to hear. I know what it's like to read twelve different websites and come away more confused than when you started.

I know what it's like to feel completely alone in a room full of people — people who love you, but who just don't quite understand what your days are actually like.

Over the years I've lived though the diagnosis, the hours in waiting rooms, the advice. I understand the supports that exist, the ones worth pursuing, the reading that actually helps, and the strategies that make a practical difference in family life. I set up Room to Thrive to share that knowledge, one conversation at a time.

I'm not a therapist. I won't give you a diagnosis or a care plan. What I will do is listen properly, research specifically for you, and help you figure out the next step — when everything feels too big and too much.
